Herders“Sunshine Passbook” Project

Project Background: The collective economies of 34 gacha villages in Sunite Right Banner, Inner Mongolia, are weak, and herders face dual challenges in winter animal husbandry and employment. The area enjoys over 3,000 hours of sunshine annually, offering advantages for photovoltaic development.

Implementation: 50.4335 million yuan in poverty alleviation funds will be integrated to build village-level photovoltaic power stations with a total capacity of 7,759 kilowatts. These power plants will utilize wind-resistant and cold-resistant modules adapted to the grassland climate, with profits distributed precisely to the gacha collectives.

Application Results: By the end of 2024, cumulative profits of 55.01 million yuan will have been generated, with each gacha receiving an average of 1.45 million yuan. Through subsidies for animal husbandry equipment and the creation of public welfare jobs, the project will increase the annual income of 12 herder households by an average of 7,200 yuan, fundamentally changing the situation of relying on the weather for their livelihoods.
